Dallas based Karate league awards $2000 in college scholarships over the weekend!
Dallas, Texas - 12/20/2007 - This past Saturday, Kick 4 College National Karate League wrapped up its inaugural season by awarding $2000 in scholarship money to its competitors. The competition featured more than 70 martial artists, and included many state ranked competitors from schools across Texas. Their ages ranged from 5 years old to 54.
Erika Hernandez of Ennis Black Belt Academy won the girls 16-17 year old advanced belt fighting division and was awarded a gold medal and a $1000 to attend the school of her choice. Her instructor is Jackie Self.
Jae Lewis, student of Joe McSpadden, won the boys 16-17 advanced belt fighting division. He proved to be tough and determined during the intense battles as he earned the gold medal and a $1000 scholarship.
The next Kick 4 College tournament is set for April 12, 2008 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. It will feature point fighting, continuous fighting, and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
